Arrival Day!

Today I made my way North-East of Melun to Maincy, France in the department of Seine-et-Maine where the Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte sits up on a slight hill surrounded by its own beautiful garden. The house, I am told, was designed by architect Louis Le Vau with assistance from Charles le Brun as the painter-decorator and Andre le Notre as the landscape architect. The Chateau and the encompassing garden were built between the dates of 1656-1661.
